Second Life Lifestyles

In my adventures the last two years….I’ve had the fortune to run across some amazing people, who have built amazing homes.  Always a treat to visit the haven they’ve created for themselves….and always so unique.

Here you will get a glimpse into some of the most beautiful homes and settings in Second Life…..and have the opportunity to experience Lifestyles.  Enjoy the Tours.

September 13

I’ve been nagging at Linn London to get the finishing touches in place……and finally got the OK to slip over to the A-Frame designed by Red Folland….and what a treat!  I just spent the afternoon there, and some beautiful photos to follow………….

The A-Frame sits atop a hill, with beautiful views in a very peaceful setting….I had to stop and lounge on the deck for a bit, and enjoy, before beginning the tour.

I started the tour in the Living Room, with huge vaulted ceiling and massive fireplace.  Although Red’s architecture presents a dramatic, sweeping statement when you enter this room…..it is very warm and cozy and intimate……….

These sofas are comfortable!  Linn has added the finishing touches with the coffee table books, charming tea set, and artwork.

A view of the soaring ceilings with balcony above……..

I stepped into the library…..picked out a book from their incredible collection of books, poured a glass of wine, and found a great pillow in front of the Aquarium to settle in for a bit…..

At this rate, I will be here all day!  But I don’t mind….this home is a retreat.  Getting hungry, so I shuffled off to the kitchen, and Linn left lunch for me!  How sweet.  She’s been grabbing kitchen items all week in the store, and I couldn’t wait to see the kitchen.

Ooops….someone left a sink full of dishes……

Looks like Linn has been busy in her herb garden, this summer….this woman does it all!

Linn had requested a spice rack, to complete her kitchen, so I whipped one up for her ….some petit fours, baker’s rack, cookbooks, and fruit bowl add the finishing touches to her gourmet kitchen.

Accessorizing your home like Linn has done, really makes it a home….be sure to see the product review page, for details on where to find all the accessories and furnishings you see in this photo tour.

Look – Linn left me lunch!  Thanks Linn!

I relaxed at the dining room table for a bit, after that great lunch, before heading upstairs……..OMG!  That Lamp looks familiar!  Is that one of my vases???   That Linn is such the handywoman.  :)   I bet she did the electrical wiring as well.

I paused a bit, at the top of the stairway, and took in the breathtaking view from the balcony……

There’s a fantastic cozy alcove on the balcony….great place to stop and collect your thoughts….and have a cigar….sorry Linn, for stinking up your house.  :)

I stepped into the bedroom, and this room is an absolute haven!  Found a nice spot near the bedroom fireplace, to curl up…….time for a nap, after lunch……..who is minding the store????

Red really knows what features to put into a Second Life home.  This Bedroom Fireplace is wonderful.

This Bedroom is absolutely heavenly……

Oh, check this out…..I’ve spotted the EtCetera Cabinets in Linn’s Bedroom.  Always a treat to see what you’ve done with my furniture!

I loved this Chair with the end table, candles and flowers.  Details like this are to die for…….

Walking out on the bedroom deck, I spot another set that Linn picked up from the resale section of EtCetera….remember, I do the shopping for you, to find the perfect pieces….all you have to do is come in and pick them up, without flitting all over Second Life…this is one of my favorite sets from Melino Style, by Tara Talgore….be sure to see the product review page for details….this set is a must, for any home.

I walked down to the lower deck, and found the perfect spot for a lazy Saturday afternoon, and yes, lounging around in this wonderful home all day, has made me lazy!

I smell something scrumptious……oh look!  Linn has left dinner for me, too!  I love this job.  :)

Grabbed a burger and headed for the liquor cabinet….and she had locked it!  She must have heard.  Uh oh….looks like someone left a bottle of Jack on the table……….

Those burgers were great, and she even left dessert too.  Linn really know how to live.  Relaxing a bit on the deck……

Headed out into the backyard, and found a shady spot to finish the tour.  This picnic area was adorable, and I was drawn to the Irises….it appears that Red grew those….I will have to ask Linn about that.  There is so much about this home to discuss with Linn and Red.  For now, I’m going to take a break (as you can see I worked very hard this afternoon)….and the interview with Linn and Red, with details on this fabulous home will follow…..

What a wonderful afternoon!  Thank you so much Linn and Red for letting me snoop around this afternoon.  We’re going to have to sit down, and discuss this creation in Detail!

I will be posting all product information as you saw above, on the Product Review page, in the next few days.  If you see something you can’t live without until then, just send me a message, and I’ll get the information to you.

Mickey Vandeverre (reporting in from another hectic day of work)…………..

Is your home next?  What’s for dinner?

August 28

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to attend PennyWhistle Cameron’s Open House.  She is the creator of Penny’s Pets.  She held her private residence open, and it was such a treat to visit.

She lives in a beautiful log cabin, surrounded by lush lawns, water, and an echanting forest filled with her animals.  Penny greeted guests on the front porch. Katy from our EtCetera Group joined us, before beginning the tour.

Cora Heslop visits with the Calico Cat on the front porch.

As I start the path into the woods….I catch a raccoon sleeping behind the rock.

Meandering down the path….I spot this beautiful Great Blue Heron among the cattails….swimming in the pond is a Canadian Goose and Loon.  What a peaceful setting.

Uh Oh!  There’s a Skunk prowling through the flower beds!  I approach cautiously….

Who are you calling Turkey…Turkey!  Tom here, has a delightful voice, and we chatted for some time…hopefully he will end up in your backyard, and not on your table.

While chatting with Tom…I heard a rustling behind me, then haunting howling begin….startled, I turn around, and a pack of wolves are right behind me!

I scurry along the path…to get away from them…..and ladies….you will never believe who I bump into in the woods….it’s Milo Itano, owner of SL’s most romantic sim, September Rain…talk about being rescued by a knight in shining armor!  One of SL’s most handsome men….and I do believe perhaps the most eligible bachelor  (let me check on that)…..

Milo raved about Penny’s creation….how stunning it is, the delightful animals greeting you at every turn…..my photos do not do it justice.  ( and excuse me for having my range settings down low, when taking pics….this was my first assignment, and I was very nervous…..cut me some slack!)

The Baby Bear was just adorable!  Momma Bear was not so happy when I got too close, but she smelled me, and I was calm and friendly….and she seemed to settle down….so I ventured on down the path……

Oh, the Fawn was so precious…..I just wanted to carry him home with me…..oh wait..you can!

Penny’s Dogs, Pets & Wildlife, Papercut (30, 63, 24)

The animals at Penny’s private residence are forest animals…but she has almost every animal you can imagine on her sim Papercut.  Farm Animals, Jungle Animals, Cats and Dogs…so many breeds of Dogs!   I have 2 Rottweilers on the front steps of my beach home.  :)
